This Week’s Events and News: October 5–11, 2026

Three new things in La Grande and upcoming events!

Before we get into this week’s events, I want to call out three new things going on in La Grande that you may or may not be aware of. I’d also like to give a big thanks to Press Room Coffee and Evermine Labels for their support.

First, I want to thank Evermine Labels and The Press Room for supporting La Grande Loop by creating and donating stickers with QR codes on them! As I found time this weekend, I went around and handed out these stickers to businesses and quickly realized I didn’t bring enough with me — which is a good problem to have. Thanks again Evermine Labels for your support!

The Train Station

You all have probably already heard, but for those who haven’t, The Train Station has opened in the old EONI building. They offer food, drinks, axe throwing, golf simulators, an outdoor dining space, a couple of food trucks, and a venue for live music. It’s a nice addition to La Grande!

Foxfire Cafe

Foxfire Cafe opened this week in the old Blue Mountain Outfitters building. The owners also own Whitewater Coffee, right next door. After seeing success with the coffee shop, they wanted to expand and offer food in addition to coffee under a new name.

New Jump Park Under Construction at Pioneer Park

If you’ve been by Pioneer Park lately, behind Lions Field you may have noticed a large lot being carved out. That space will be more than just overflow parking during baseball season.

Grande Ronde Gravity is planning to build a bike jump park on the hillside for new and experienced riders of all ages. The plan, I’ve been told, is to build seven trails — a mix of novice, intermediate, and difficult options.

Through a partnership with the City’s Parks and Recreation Department, the group has been able to secure grants for Phase 1 and begin construction. According to their website, the overall cost of the project is estimated at $200,000, much of which has already been funded through grants.

Alongside those grants, they are seeking to raise 10% of the project budget from the community. Donations can be made here: https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/donation-form/jump-park-phase--1

Okay, onto this week’s events!
