The Elgin Opera House will present *Shrek the Musical Jr.* on its mainstage from Oct. 16-31.

Performances are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Fridays, Oct. 16, 23 and 30\. Saturday performances are scheduled for 12:30 and 4:30 p.m. Oct. 17 and 24, with a final 12:30 p.m. performance Oct. 31.

Based on the DreamWorks Animation film and Broadway musical, the family-friendly production follows Shrek and a group of fairy-tale characters on a journey involving Princess Fiona, Lord Farquaad and a wisecracking donkey.
