Grande Ronde Public Lands Day — Sept. 26

Hands-on public lands projects and a free lunch run 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Sept. 26 at Riverside Park. RSVP by Sept. 22; space is limited.

LA GRANDE — The public is invited to Grande Ronde Public Lands Day from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, at Riverside Park, North Spruce Street.

The free event will offer hands-on projects and activities focused on local public lands and the Grande Ronde watershed. It is part of National Public Lands Day.

Activities

  • Watershed monitoring with Grande Ronde Community Science
  • Tiny forest planting with La Grande Parks and Recreation
  • Birding with Friends of Ladd Marsh
  • A tree walk with Brian Kelly of Greater Hells Canyon Council
  • Art activities with Blue Mountain Conservancy Wild School

A free lunch will be served from noon to 1 p.m. Space is limited, and participants must RSVP by Tuesday, Sept. 22, to reserve lunch.

Grande Ronde Community Science is organizing the event in partnership with La Grande Parks and Recreation, Friends of Ladd Marsh, Blue Mountains Conservancy and Greater Hells Canyon Council.
