LA GRANDE — The public is invited to Grande Ronde Public Lands Day from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, at Riverside Park, North Spruce Street.
The free event will offer hands-on projects and activities focused on local public lands and the Grande Ronde watershed. It is part of National Public Lands Day.
Activities
- Watershed monitoring with Grande Ronde Community Science
- Tiny forest planting with La Grande Parks and Recreation
- Birding with Friends of Ladd Marsh
- A tree walk with Brian Kelly of Greater Hells Canyon Council
- Art activities with Blue Mountain Conservancy Wild School
A free lunch will be served from noon to 1 p.m. Space is limited, and participants must RSVP by Tuesday, Sept. 22, to reserve lunch.
