Elkhorn Relay returns Saturday, Aug. 8, 2026, with an 80.6-mile, six-person team relay starting at Hilgard Junction State Park near La Grande.
Organized by RUNOR Racing Co. / Run With Purpose Racing, the Eastern Oregon relay follows old Highway 244 along the Grande Ronde River before climbing into backcountry gravel mountain roads and toward the Elkhorn Mountains. The route includes about 6,000 feet of elevation gain and finishes with a trail leg at the ski resort near Anthony Lakes.
