6th street sidewalk closure for new baseball field construction

The city of La Grande is moving a water main in preparation for Eastern Oregon University to begin work on the university's new baseball field.

According to La Grande Director of Public Works Kyle Carpenter, “We are moving a water mainline to prepare for EOU’s planned construction of the new softball and baseball fields. Construction is underway now and is anticipated to be completed in around 4 weeks (just the water main move not the new fields).  The sidewalk and trees had to be removed due to the construction but will be replaced once construction is complete.”

La Grande Loop reached out to EOU for an estimated project timeline and is waiting to hear back with more information.
